Greek Ammo Smuggler Arrested in Hungary

A Greek national attempting to smuggle ammunition into Germany via Hungary was arrested at the Röszke border station, the Csongrád-Csanád County Prosecutor’s Office said.
The Greek man is suspected of having bought 100 rounds of handgun ammunition in Bulgaria at the request of a client on Tuesday.
He then set off for Germany via Hungary. When inspecting his vehicle at the border station, excise officers discovered and seized the illegal ammunition.
The prosecutor’s office has initiated the suspect’s pre-trial detention, saying he was a flight risk or could undermine the proceedings.
