Does Wizz Air Deserve New Award of 'Airline of the Year'?

Wizz Air received the Airline of the Year award at the Air Transport Awards event in Montreal on Wednesday.
Collecting the prize, CEO József Váradi said “Wizz Air is one of the fastest-growing and greenest airlines in the world. We provide our customers with great service at the lowest possible fares across the Wizz network of 1,000 routes in 55 countries in Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Africa”.
From the start of the company’s business year on April 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022, passenger traffic rose to 38.9 million from 20.3 million a year earlier.
Chairman Robert Carey predicted a strong expansion at a press conference on Tuesday, forecasting 67 million passengers in the coming business year.
In the first nine months of the present business year, the ebitda rose from €77.3 million to €215 million, while revenues rose from €1.3 billion to €3.1 billion.
