EC President Refutes Cutting Oil to Hungary Claim
The Hungarian office of the European Commission denied on Wednesday that President von der Leyen had advised Ukraine to cut off deliveries of Russian crude oil to Hungary through the Friendship pipeline.

“President von der Leyen has never made such a recommendation about the Friendship pipeline and has never been in contact on this subject”, the office said.

On Wednesday Index, several other governing party websites and state news agency MTI reported the allegation.

The claim originated from the head of Ukraine’s pipeline operator Ukrtransnafta, who said the Commission president had advised such a move in response to tighter Hungarian regulations on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products.
