Open Days, Sándor Palace Budapest, 13 - 14 May

On the first anniversary of President Katalin Novák's inauguration, the Sándor Palace will once again be open to visitors.
On May 13th and 14th, Saturday and Sunday, the palace will open its doors to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the building that houses the presidential office.
The programs of the open days will start in front of the palace at St. George Square. At noon, there will be a musical changing of the guard, and between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., the Central Band of the Hungarian Defense Forces will entertain the audience with live music.
Visitors will also have the chance to learn about the history of the Sándor Palace, which was renovated in 2002, and they can visit the salon where Katalin Novák held a private meeting with Pope Francis during the pontiff's visit to Hungary.
They will also discover where the president receives foreign dignitaries visiting our country and where he or she accepts or presents credentials from ambassadors.
The tour will include historically significant rooms that have served representative functions over the centuries, such as the Mirror Hall, the Red Salon adorned with a painting of Maria Theresa, the Blue Reception Salon with neobaroque furniture also known as the Gobelin or Boucher Room, and the Empire Salon.
