Prices of 61 Food Products to Be Monitored in Hungary
Economic Development Minister Márton Nagy announced the list of the 61 food products subject to price reporting duties by retailers from July 1, in a decree published.

Retailers must send the daily price, the previous price and the price for loyalty programme customers to the price-monitoring system in electronic form daily, at the latest by the end of the day before the daily price and regular customer price are applied.

As the system will display actual prices on a given day, consumers can find where products are the cheapest, Portfolio notes.

The government expects the retail chains to change their sales policies due to the transparency of prices, leading to lower inflation.
