Railway traffic will be suspended between Tatabánya and Biatorbágy during the day and between Tatabánya and Budaörs at night. Passengers will be transported by replacement buses.
Twice as many replacement buses will be put into operation as in the first phase of the renovation.
Those traveling on long-distance and international trains should expect an additional journey time of 45-60 minutes, and commuters up to 30 minutes, MÁV warns.
During the three weeks of the complete closure, all planned work on the parallel section of the M1 motorway that could slow down traffic will be postponed, MÁV added.
Meanwhile Near Győr - District Rezoned Despite Local Protests
A 400-hectare area next to the village of Győrszentiván, close to Győr, has quietly been rezoned as a “disturbing industrial area” (GIPZ) despite local protests, 444 reports.
A government decree designated the 400-hectare area as industrial land also allowing for “disturbing” noise and odour in January 2022, igniting local protests.
In principle, the reclassification of the area falls within the local council’s purview, in this case the city of Győr.
A meeting of the city council should have decided on the matter, but no such meeting was held.
Residents of Győrszentiván have convened public forums, sent 900 comments electronically to the municipality and 5,585 of them signed a petition against the reclassification of the area.
The city administration now argues that a public discussion is not mandatory, and that the reclassification of the zone was decided by government decree, so this area has been a GIPZ zone since January of 2022.
