Jesse Eisenberg Visits Budapest Magic Shop During Hollywood Movie Shoot in Hungary
Budapest has become a hub of Hollywood activity as the third installment of the “Now You See Me” series is currently being filmed in the city. Jesse Eisenberg, who plays a key role in the films, recently visited a local magic shop, where he explored the world of magic beyond his on-screen character.

The shop owner, Szabó István, was pleasantly surprised by Eisenberg’s genuine interest in magic.

“Although the magic tricks in the Now You See Me films are often movie effects or performed by hand doubles, Jesse Eisenberg, perhaps influenced by his character, has developed a serious interest in magic,” Szabó explained. Eisenberg was particularly interested in specific tricks, including a linked flat card deck, and showed curiosity across various magic disciplines.

Szabó also shared how Eisenberg took the time to learn a few tricks. “My colleague Vince demonstrated many tricks to him. He was intrigued by the micro-magic trick ‘Where’s the Red?’ and even purchased a mentalist trick,” Szabó recounted. Eisenberg received a quick ten-minute lesson on the technique, which he might use in real life or possibly even in the movie.

The ongoing filming of “Now You See Me” in Budapest underscores the city’s growing appeal as a prime location for major international productions. Eisenberg’s visit to the magic shop not only highlights his dedication to his role but also his personal interest in the art of magic. As production continues, fans are eager to see if any of the tricks learned in Budapest will appear in the film.
