Used car sales climb 11pc in November

Used car sales in Hungary rose 11pc year-on-year to 77,700 in November, listings site JoAutok.hu said on Thursday, citing figures compiled by DataHouse.

Sales in January-November reached 842,000, beating the record 825,000 in 2022, JoAutok.hu said.

JoAutok.hu CEO Bertalan Halasz said sales are likely to reach 900,000 this year as some buyers opt for used vehicles instead of new ones, demand is diverted from used car imports to domestic supply due to the weak forint exchange rate and purchases with credit have been boosted by lower interest rates.

Sales of imported used cars rose 4.1pc to 102,500 in January-November.
