Public Consultation Launched On Expanding Price-Monitoring Platform in Hungary
The National Economy Ministry on Friday announced the launch of public consultations on expanding an online platform that monitors the prices of food products at Hungary's biggest supermarket chains.

With the addition of fish, coffee, tea, rice, beef, bun and cocoa products, the number of product categories on the platform could rise to 100.

Launched in the summer of 2023 as part of government measures to spur competition and bring down food price inflation, the platform features daily price comparisons at Aldi, Auchan, Lidl, Penny, Spar and Tesco.
