New Survey: Most Hungarians Agree with Restricting Budapest Pride - Nezopont
The absolute majority of the Hungarian adult population supports restricting the LGBTQ community parade in order to protect children, according to a fresh survey by the Nezopont Institute.

According to the results of the survey, the majority of Hungarian society approves of restricting the demonstration. While 51 percent of the adult population said they believed the Pride march can be restricted in order to protect children, only 43 percent said they were of the opposite view.

By political affiliation, Viktor Orban's supporters uniformly (86 percent) reject the public display of the LGBTQ community, while four-fifths of the supporters of Peter Magyar said they would allow the Pride march to go ahead. There is also a clear contrast between the capital and rural areas, with just 36 percent of Budapest citizens favouring restrictions as against 55 percent of people living in villages.

Nezopont's phone survey was carried out on June 16-17 with a representative sample of 1,000 adults.
