Used EV Market in Hungary Topped by Tesla Model 3 as Prices Drop Sharply
Hungary's used electric vehicle market saw a sharp price decline in the first half of 2025, with Tesla leading the trend, according to an analysis by hasznaltauto.hu.

Comparing data for the 10 most popular electric cars from January-June 2024 and 2025, the Tesla Model 3 posted the most significant price drop, making it the most sought-after EV in the country.

The model’s average price fell by HUF 2.7 million year-on-year, a 16.7% decrease, while interest nearly tripled. The Model 3 received 22,600 inquiries in H1 2025, with 2,800 active listings.

The average unit had 110,000 km mileage and was 4.6 years old.

The previous market leader, BMW’s i-Series, slipped to second place but remained popular with 11,850 inquiries and 1,650 listings.

These vehicles had lower mileage, 67,000 km on average, and saw a modest price rise of 2.9% to an average HUF 9.6 mln, driven by the introduction of newer models like the i4, i5, and i7.
