Congrats 48: Hungarian Venue Listed in 'World’s Best Winery Restaurants' by Michelin
Villány’s Sauska 48 has been included in the Michelin Guide’s list of the World’s 18 Best Winery Restaurants - the only Hungarian venue to earn a place on the prestigious ranking.

The French guide highlights restaurants in wine regions that best capture the spirit of their surroundings while delivering memorable guest experiences.

This year’s list spans Europe and the Americas, featuring two restaurants each from France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Mexico and California, along with one each from Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Michelin praised Sauska 48 for its “lively proximity to the vineyards and nature” and its connection to a second-generation family winery. Guests are offered a wide selection of wines, from Villány reds to bottles from the Sauska family’s Tokaj estate, including sparkling varieties and the famed Tokaj Aszú.

The kitchen there, led by chef Attila Bicsár, is known for its modern interpretations of Hungarian classics, including traditional comfort dishes such as cabbage noodles, presented in a refined yet authentic way.

Sauska 48 joins global destinations such as La Grand’Vigne in Bordeaux, Ambivium in Spain’s Ribera del Duero, and The Restaurant at JUSTIN in California’s Paso Robles on the 2025 list.
