Latest Price Trends in Hungary Revealed - Dairy Products Down 8%, Eggs Up 18%

Food prices rose 4.7pc, but increased just 3.0pc excluding the price of eating out. The price of eggs jumped 18.2pc and cooking oil prices climbed 8.4pc, but the price of flour dropped 12.0pc, dairy products prices fell 8.4pc and pork was 4.5pc cheaper.
Household energy prices rose 10.6pc as piped gas prices climbed 23.4pc and electricity prices increased 2.3pc.
Consumer durable prices rose 2.5pc.
Motor fuel prices edged down 0.3pc.
Prices of spirits and tobacco products increased 7.1pc and clothing prices rose 2.4pc. Service prices were up 5.9pc.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile fuel and food prices, was 3.9pc.
The CPI calculated with a basket of goods and services used by pensioners was 4.3pc.
In a month-on-month comparison, consumer prices were flat. Food prices, excluding the price of eating out, fell 0.5pc. Service prices dropped 0.4pc, household energy declined 0.1pc and motor fuel prices rose 0.4pc.
In a comment after the release of the fresh data, the National Economy Ministry noted that mandatory caps on markups had reduced the prices of a range of affected food and non-food products by 20pc and 27pc, respectively.
The measures are in force until the end of November.
The ministry also highlighted the impact of voluntary price restrictions by lenders, insurers, telecommunications service providers and pharmaceutical companies.
The government takes steps to address "unjustified price increases in all sectors", it added.
