Free Events: Art Weekend Budapest, 28 - 30 November
- 29 Oct 2025 2:20 PM
During the three-day, free event, institutional exhibition spaces, contemporary galleries, studios and alternative exhibition spaces joining the program will open their doors to the general public. This year, 16 venues, including an exhibition space in Pécs, will participate in the event series for the first time, the organizers told MTI.
The organized, one and a half to two-hour " tours " will depart from Friday to Sunday, at pre-announced times, on different routes, visiting three or four exhibitions close to each other.
This year, the leaders of the walks will again include several well-known personalities who, coming from other branches of art or from business life, are connected to the exhibitions on the current tour route. The organizers are dedicating separate walks to the 14-20 year old age group.
This year, a new feature is that corporate collections will also be presented. For the first time, a curatorial selection from the STRABAG ART collection will be coming to Hungary, which those interested can view at the AWB's central exhibition in Bródy House.
KPMG will also open its doors to the public, so exhibition material from its collection can also be viewed at the company's headquarters.
The Colourful Noise - video art show, created by the two founding members of the artis-led collective, Anna Járai and her partner, Joseph Penn, promises to be a special program.
Almost 800 entries were received for the international competition for the Colourful Noise - video art show. The selected material can be viewed by interested parties on November 29th at the Pikszis Culture Center.
In 2024, AWB joined The Spider network, which brings together Europe's leading art events, thus the event is now also celebrated internationally. In the spirit of knowledge sharing and networking, AWB's special guest in 2025 will be the main organizer of Prague Art Week (PAW), Lenka Bakes.
The event organizers are still looking for committed, art-loving volunteers to help organize and accompany the groups on the art walks. The AWB volunteer program is provided by the VAP platform, and joining is also an opportunity for young people to gain practical experience.
