Mid-Range Vehicles Gain Ground as Used Auto Market Stabilizes in Hungary
The domestic used-car market is showing signs of a gradual but clear structural shift, with price segments stabilizing and electric and hybrid models continuing to grow faster than average.

According to joint statistics for November from hasznaltauto.hu and the Central Statistical Office (KSH), the distribution of price categories in November showed only minor changes compared to the previous month, indicating that, after a period of rapid transformation, the market is entering a more stable phase.

Cars priced under HUF 2.5 million accounted for 37.7% of the supply, while the HUF 2.5-5 million and HUF 5-10 mln categories made up more than half combined.

Vehicles priced above HUF 10 mln represented 12.2%. On a year-on-year basis, the data reflect a shrinking share of lower-priced cars and a growing dominance of mid-range vehicles.

The average price held steady at HUF 5.5 mln, suggesting the market is now shaped more by changes in supply composition than by rising prices.
