'Hey, June!' Festival, Palace of Arts Budapest, 7 - 13 June
This year, as Müpa Budapest commemorates its 20th anniversary, the cherished Hey, June! mini-festival will also mark two decades of vibrant celebration.

From 7 to 13 June, this annual tradition will usher in the summer with an eclectic array of performances, spanning new-wave hip-hop, folk-infused pop, and dynamic, improvisational psychedelic art rock. True to its legacy, the festival promises singular, unforgettable shows crafted for those who crave the extraordinary.

Kicking off the festivities is Co Lee, a trailblazer of Hungarian hip-hop renowned for his raw, punk-inspired candour and visceral authenticity. A trained acrobat, Co Lee will anchor his performance around the theme of walk, inspired by his recent album La Promenade, co-released with Blaize in September. Movement serves as both a visual and dramaturgical cornerstone, weaving a captivating narrative on stage.

Celebrating their 15th year, the band Konyha—named after their beloved house-party kitchen venues—offers a respite from the daily grind. Their intimate, storytelling concert revisits the very kitchen table where their journey began, promising a warm, nostalgic connection with the audience.

Similarly intimate is HUNCLORIQUE, a collaborative production by Boggie and Petruska, which showcases the evocative beauty of Hungarian folk music through carefully curated love ballads and laments for the departed.

The visionary underground band ék, led by Olivér Lee, will bring long-held dreams to life in the Festival Theatre, augmented by a wind section and bold visual concepts.

Meanwhile, Mehringer, known for their eloquent lyrics and infectious energy, fearlessly embraces Friday the 13th. Defying superstition, Marci Mehringer and his rising ensemble will celebrate their third anniversary with a vibrant performance of both classic and new songs, a date that has always brought them good fortune.

Join Müpa Budapest for a week of unparalleled artistry, where innovation and tradition converge to create moments that resonate long after the final note.
