Volume of beer brewed by the companies slipped 4.8pc to 473m litres.

Developments fit the trend in Europe, the associations said, noting that output of Austrian brewers fell 7.1pc in 2025, while domestic sales of German brewers dropped 5.8pc.

The market share of premium beers edged up to 25pc in 2025, while alcohol-free beers took 7pc.

Close to 70pc of beer was sold in cans and 14pc was sold in bottles.

The association data includes sales of Borsodi, Carlsberg Hungary, Dreher and Heineken Hungaria.
