Cabinet Approves E.ON Deal & Cuts In District Heating Fees In Hungary

The cabinet confirmed plans to impose a 10% cut on district heating prices from January 1 and approved the purchase of E.ON's Hungarian gas operations, spokesman Andras Giro-Szasz announced. The cabinet last week announced a 10% reduction in rates charged to household by gas and electricity distributors.

Parliament endorsed an amendment on Tuesday granting a new form of residence permit to any foreigner who buys at least €250,000 worth of five-year state securities. The bill creates the new category of “investor residency”.
