The first cultural event of the reopening will be the Night of Museums, scheduled to take place on June 26th, the weekend that is the closest to the summer solstice. This year museums will be open to the public once again, with COVID safety measures in mind.

On view from 17 July, until 30 September. Garry Winogrand, the “pioneer of street photography” captured the women in the United States of America in the 1960s and 1970s with quick and accurate timing through special angles.

A high schooler from the elite Budapest district of Rózsadomb spends a weekend at lake Tisza. But it is not time with friends to blow their parents’ money while lazing around in the beach. These students make paper airplanes and play football with the disadvantaged children of the local orphanage.

Capa in Color presents the color work of the world-renowned Hungarian-born photographer taken between 1938 and 1954. The show was first exhibited in New York last year. This is the first time that the Capa Center cooperates with the International Center of Photography (ICP), one of the most distinguished photography institutions of the world.

Hungary must have more famous photographers per capita than any other country: Capa, Kertesz, Brassai, Moholy-Nagy but Munkacsi was the one who brought movement and joie de vivre to photography. Women laughing as they leapt over puddles, goalkeepers diving for the ball, dancers, divers, wrestlers, children running into the surf, Fred Astaire clicking his heels in mid air.
