Bicycles Of MOL Bubi Public Bicycle System Have Been Introduced In Budapest

The public bicycle system of Budapest, the so-called Bubi, is scheduled to start during next spring. The first bicycles have been introduced by Mayor István Tarlós and MOL Chairman-CEO Zsolt Hernádi. The costs of the project, realized with the financial support of the EU, have reached one billion forints.

The Bubi bicycle rental network is expected to start operating in Budapest next April, MOL CEO Zsolt Hernádi and mayor István Tarlós announced on Wednesday. MOL, as chief sponsor of the project, will provide Ft 122 million of the estimated Ft 250 million annual costs of the system. The remainder will be paid by the city, which will receive the revenue from the rentals.
