If you and your friends want to solve a Magyar murder in the comfort of your own home, try “Murder in the Puszta”. This is a murder mystery party game where each player acts out a suspect in a murder case. A fictitious csárda (inn) on the edge of the Puszta National Park serves as the crime scene, where inn owners Pisti and Marika always give their guests a hearty welcome.

There are some great exceptions, of course, like Sir Bryan Cartledge’s work. But relatively speaking, really good stuff — especially about the 20th century — is difficult to find in English.

Hungary's Economy Minister Varga Orders Tax Audit Of RTL Klub

RTL Klub television will undergo an audit by the Tax Office (NAV), Economy Minister Mihály Varga told reporters yesterday, saying that the company may have recorded a fictitious transaction on its books in order to reduce its tax burden. The announcement came a few days after reports that a late modification to the advertising tax bill may have saved RTL as much as Ft 3 billion in taxes this year.
