The Netherlands and US sci-fi writer John Scalzi will be the guest of honour at this year’s International Book Festival which will also feature a roundtable of EU Literature Prize laureates between Sept 28 and Oct 1, the organisers said.

Attending an event on Monday in Berlin, Gergely Gulyás, the head of the Prime Minister’s Office, said that Hungary “still has many friends in Germany”, adding that Germany “is important to Hungary”, notwithstanding “disparaging debates” in German politics about Hungary.
