Sziget Cultural Management presents the biggest snow festival of the region at the end of November. Fridge is already known in Hungary, but this year the festival fans can enjoy the event parallel in Vienna as well. The event merges the most spectacular winter sports with all-star music performers.

This Budapest Marathon will be held for 28th time this Sunday, sponsored by SPAR. As well as the main event, also available are The Riska Minimarathon, Danone Fun Run and Spar Walking and Family Run which are shorter distance runs giving an opportunity for everyone to participate regardless of age or ability so that even whole families can share in the mad marathon atmosphere.

What can one say about the newly introduced ethics textbook for Hungarian fifth graders? For starters, it is not, strictly speaking, an ethics text. Ethics is not a branch of religion, and being ethical is not the same as following the law or adhering to societal norms. So a textbook that lauds religious virtues and advocates unquestioning civil obedience doesn’t belong in an ethics class.
