GE has been operating in Hungary since the end of 1989, when it made a strategic investment in Hungarian lamp manufacturer Tungsram. Currently GE has 10,000+ associates in Hungary; of them 9,000 are working in the industrial businesses and an additional 1,500 employees in GE’s Global Operations Center, Budapest.

I was born in Budapest on 15th February 1970. At the age of five I entered the world of high performance sport as a member of KSI – Central Sports School gymnastics team. In 1986 I joined the Postás Sports Club and then, through a scholarship, continued in the USA with the University of Minnesota’s gymnastics team. It was there that I concluded my active career in elite sport.

Veteran Yachtsman Fa Completes Vendée Globe

Veteran Hungarian yachtsman Nándor Fa has completed the 2016- 2017 Vendée Globe round-the-world race, finishing in eighth place. The 63-year-old Fa’s yacht Spirit of Hungary crossed the line with a time of 93 days, 22 hours, 52 minutes and 9 seconds. He completed the 50,130km distance with an average speed of 12.35 knots. Fa called his result the crowning achievement of his career.

The Indian Embassy in Budapest told XpatLoop.com they heartily invite all dance lovers to the performances of a Padmashree award winning dancer Pratibha Prahlad. The artist is performing around Hungary with her 13-member group between 11-16 February, and will dance in Budapest at the Central European University on Monday. Entry is free, but registration is needed.
