Budapest city council placed mayor Istvan Tarlos in charge of the renovation of Kossuth ter outside Parliament, at the request of the government. All permits, approvals and official valuations concerning the project will be issued by Tarlos, without the need for approval by city council.

Tram Project Much Delayed In Debrecen, Hungary

The city of Debrecen will formally file a request today for a daily Ft 10 million indemnity payment from project managers who are far behind schedule on building a second tram line in the city. Mayor Lajos Kósa told a Thursday press conference that the ATK-Debrecen consortium was to have completed the project on May 31, but only 23% of the track and 32-33% of the terminal is completed.
