The European Commission said that it had referred Hungary to the Court of Justice of the European Union over its national mobile payment system. The exclusive right granted to stateowned company Nemzeti Mobilfizetési to provide mobile payment services is an unjustified obstacle to the provision of services in the single market, the EC said.

Retail store operator Palóc Nagykereskedelmi, which announced last week that Hungarian-owned retail chain CBA had canceled its franchise contract for all its 80 stores, reportedly voluntarily filed for bankruptcy at a local court in Balassagyarmat yesterday.
