Budapest Mayor István Tarlós indicated during an interview on ATV that he does not intend to run for a third mayoral term in 2019 elections, index.hu reports. Tarlós acknowledged that he hadn’t been enthusiastic about running during the 2014 elections either, so, as he put it, “I wouldn’t put too much money” on a 2018 bid.

Csaba Horváth, the party’s Budapest representative, said that unless a wage dispute involving BKV is resolved imminently public transport in the entire city could collapse.

Consumer prices in Hungary rose by an annual 2.9% in February, accelerating from a rise of 2.3% in January to just under the central bank’s mid-term “price stability” target. Emerging market analysts in London had forecast February CPI at 2.8-2.9%.
