A record number of 50 heart transplants have been carried out at the Budapest Semmelweis University’s Vascular Surgery Department this year, the clinic said. The main trigger behind the number has been that doctors “seized every opportunity” to help patients in need and conducted when possible two operations on the same day, it said.
