Popular downtown venue Gozsdu Courtyard (Gozsdu Udvar) is holding a street music festival between until 20 June. Events take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and lesser known Hungarian musicians are invited to compete for a prize of 500,000 forints (EUR 1,625), which will be awarded based on ‘likes’ by the audience.
World Family Summit To Be Held In Budapest Between 25 - 28 May

The Budapest Family Summit, an event focusing on, surprisingly enough, family issues, will be held later this month in Budapest, from May 25th to the 28th. The event will include famous politicians, scientists, and thinkers. You can view a video of him giving a TED talk on “the psychology of evil” on the video below.

On Friday, several buildings in Budapest were lit up in green in celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day. On Sunday, the Irish national holiday was celebrated by a parade around the city. The Hungarian capital has joined the campaign of the Irish Tourist Board to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day worldwide.

This large downtown club will celebrate St. Paddy with a 'shamrocking festival'. This St Patrick's Festival is part of St Patrick's Parade held annually in Budapest. "Over several days, you may find entertaining programs for your ears and eyes, and livers," the organisers of this event told XpatLoop.

Entry is free, so if you fancy a taste of a pig that came close to extinction just a few decades ago, pop along to Szabadság Tér for a bite of magnificent mangalica meat - said to be tastier and healthier than regular pork. As you may know, this festival is named after a delicious furry pig that's indigenous to Hungary, this year the event is held again in downtown Budapest next weekend.
