Sons of Apollo is an American progressive metal super group formed in 2017 and composed of drummer Mike Portnoy, bassist Billy Sheehan, keyboardist Derek Sherinian, vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, and guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal.

While in Paris with Lionel Hampton & His Orchestra, trumpeter Clifford Brown teamed up with altoist Gigi Gryce and a top-notch rhythm section (pianist Henri Renaud, guitarist Jimmy Gourley, bassist Pierre Michelot, and drummer Jean-Louis Viale) for two fine sessions on this enjoyable LP. Although Gryce was not a major soloist, he held his own with the trumpeter and was a talented composer.
