Updated: Budapest's Sziget Festival in Serious Trouble

Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony wrote in a Facebook post this week that the future of Sziget has become uncertain, as the festival's CEO informed him that he was forced to initiate the termination of the agreement between the capital and the long running 'Island of Freedom' festival.

With new locations and around 3,000 programs ranging from fine arts to new circus to pop music, the annual Valley of Arts festival is set to run this year between July 18th and 27th in Kapolcs, Taliándörögd and Vigántpetend.

A four-day workshop conference and happening about Rákóczi square, at Rákóczi square with people from Rákóczi square.The construction of the 4th metro line started in 2006. Due to the prolonged works, the neighbourhood lost plenty of its liveability, the market hall became abandoned and square was only used for bypassing.

It explores how photography can be both an instrument of surveillance and a tool to expose and challenge its negative impact.
