The European Festival Awards has just revealed the shortlist of the best festivals in several categories. Out of more than 360 festivals from 34 different countries, the festivals of Sziget Cultural Management: Sziget Festival, MasterCard Balaton Sound, VOLT Festival and B.my.Lake all made it to the top 10 in their categories.

State energy company MVM will buy German investor RWE’s 49.83% stake in Budapest gas distributor Fõgáz, according to reports. A high ranking RWE representative met state officials and Budapest mayor István Tarlós last week, as the city owns 50% of the company. Retail shareholders have 0.17% of Fõgáz shares.

Parliament is expected to vote today in an exceptionally fast-track procedure on an amendment submitted by the governing parties on Sunday, which would restrict the number of casinos. The bill will make it possible for the Economy Minister to award concession rights for ten planned new casinos to two companies without tendering.
