Hungary’s rolling three-month jobless rate averaged 4.2% in May-July, down from 4.3 % in the previous period, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. The May-July rate this year was down from 5% in the same period a year earlier. The data covers unemployment among those between the ages of 15 and 74.

Lending to SMEs, including the self-employed sector, expanded by 13 per cent. As a result, SME lending was able to grow on market basis following the termination of the Funding for Growth Scheme.

To mark the anniversary, an Airbus A350, the latest long-range, wide-body jet airliner of Lufthansa’s fleet, will touch down on Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport on September 8, the company told MTI in a statement.

Hungarian condiments maker Univer Product (Kecskemét, C Hungary) has inaugurated a 4.3 billion forints (EUR 14m) tomato processing plant, the biggest of its kind in central Europe, on Thursday. Hungary’s government awarded the company a 2.1 billion forint grant for the project, Economy Minister Mihály Varga said at the ceremony.
