These are all fine choices for a visit, but you may be the type of person – like us – that prefers to learn about the weird and wonderful in a new city. Eyeful Festival Is Back In Budapest, Now On Until 1 October

From September 22 – October 1, 2016, the EYEFUL Festival is back for the fifth time, organized jointly by the Embassy of Switzerland, the Austrian Cultural Forum, and the Goethe-Institute. They are bringing to Budapest’s Művész Cinema the best of new films from German-speaking lands, including a number of prize winners.

If you and your friends want to solve a Magyar murder in the comfort of your own home, try “Murder in the Puszta”. This is a murder mystery party game where each player acts out a suspect in a murder case. A fictitious csárda (inn) on the edge of the Puszta National Park serves as the crime scene, where inn owners Pisti and Marika always give their guests a hearty welcome.
