DK Wants To Name Square In Budapest After Göncz

Democratic Coalition councillor Erzsébet Gy. Németh is suggesting that Nyugati tér be renamed in honour of former president Árpád Göncz, who died on October 6. The city council will vote on her proposal next week. Németh argues that Göncz should be honoured for his “unswerving political moral standing”. Göncz’s funeral is scheduled for November 6.
Congestion Fee Budapest Zone Proposed

The Budapest Transport Centre is proposing that a congestion fee be charged for vehicles within the Kiskörút, Népszabadság reports. In that scenario, the boundary of the car-free zone in Pest would run from Fõvám tér to Kálvin tér to Astoria to Deák Ferenc tér to Széchenyi tér.
