I grew up in a small town in Cumbria and knew I was destined for city life. Coming from a family of doctors and nurses I followed suit and moved to London to study a degree in Paediatric nursing. I stayed in London for 8 years and worked in all of the big children's hospitals.

Dr. Katalin Varga was initially denied a university place back in 1977 since her father worked at the US Embassy in Budapest and so her family were considered a 'political risk'. Therefore she started work with a technical firm and learnt computer skills from practical experience.

After achieving two degrees, one in Economics and one in German, Dennis Diokno went straight into a Masters program in International Management. Having completed his Masters, Dennis found the U.S. job market slow, so he applied for a Visa and headed to Moscow. It only took him six weeks to find a job, choose a place to stay, and develop a passion for expat living.
