Museums around the country managed by the Ministry of Human Resources had a total of almost 2.2 million visitors in 2014 – 500 000 more than in the previous year -, with Budapest’s Museum of Fine Arts being the most popular.

József Rippl-Rónai had at least as great an impact on modern Hungarian art as Aristide Maillol had on modern European sculpture. The Robert Burns International Foundation held its 18th Annual Budapest Burns Supper at the Corinthia Hotel Budapest on Saturday. It was a traditional Scottish night in the heart of the city, with Scottish pipers and haggis flown in to give a real flavour of the highlands.
