A nobleman’s palace in rural Hungary, built in the early 1900s, has gone on sale for HUF 20 million, the price of a small Budapest apartment, the tabloid newspaper Bors has reported. The Perczel Palace, at the village of Rózsafa near Szigetvár in Baranya County, has a floor area of 589 square metres. Its surroundings – the former palace park – are spread out over around 29 000 square metres.

The government is planning to take several measures to help the poor and homeless in the winter time, government spokeswoman Éva Kurucz told a press conference on Monday. A film recorded on October 12 and posted on website hvg.hu on Friday seemingly shows a Fidesz fixer handing over cash to Roma people in exchange for votes in the recent Baja repeated by-election, held after a court had found Fidesz guilty of electoral fraud.
