The Széchenyi Thermal Bath has been voted among the best in Europe by the British newspaper website Mirror.co.uk. That accolade transported David Holzer back to the first time he encountered the famous building, and Hungarian spa culture on New Year’s Eve, 2014.

While Hungary’s big cities have plenty of amenities to offer all year round, it can be harder to find a more rural setting during the off-season where one can leave urban life behind without running the risk of running out of programs to follow or places to visit by the time the night falls.
