A Budapest court has acquitted a former Moscow ambassador and six other defendants of charges of misappropriation, accessory to a crime and forgery in a real estate case. According to the indictment, Árpád Székely, ambassador at the time, had signed contracts of the sale of a property in 2008 without his superiors knowing. The other accused were trying to cover up his acts.

Police stopped a total of 2,858 illegal border crossers in Hungary this past weekend, the national police (ORFK) told MTI. The ORFK reported on its website that it had launched proceedings against two individuals for human smuggling and ten for forgery of official documents. The majority of illegal border crossers were caught in the southern portion of Csongrád County, local police said.
