The cabinet has reached a decision on the first stage of the Liget project, which will see a series of new museums built on the edge of Budapest’s City Park, János Lázár announced yesterday. He said ideas will be invited for redesigning the park and that some buildings will be restored and new ones built. The park’s Vajdahunyad Castle, home to the Agriculture Museum, will be restored completely.

Property firm AEG, owned by Russian investors, has purchased the five-star Lotus Therme Hotel & Spa in Hévíz, Zala county from CIB Bank, hotel CEO Erzsébet Pusztai confirmed. The price has not been disclosed. Accent Hotel will continue the management of the 232-room facility, where room occupancy was 61.1% last year.

They said they agree with the idea of renewing the City Park, which lies within the district, but reject the construction of new buildings arguing that they would be harmful to the character of the park.
