The history of this festival of flowers dates back to the beginning of the last century: in September 1900 the Debreczen Civil Bicycle Association organised a bicycle competition on the association’s new field. From the organisers: One afternoon in the summer of 2002, I was drinking wine with one of my musician friends in a garden in Veszprém. He told me that he had seen Pavarotti in Austria, performing in a cathedral which had room for about a thousand people.
He was surprised, that the Maestro gave a concert in such a small place.

The Indian Embassy in Budapest told XpatLoop.com they heartily invite all dance lovers to the performances of a Padmashree award winning dancer Pratibha Prahlad. The artist is performing around Hungary with her 13-member group between 11-16 February, and will dance in Budapest at the Central European University on Monday. Entry is free, but registration is needed.
