Demand for Hungarian workers abroad is likely to futher increase and it is therefore important to continue wage increases in Hungary in order to prevent the emigration of workers, the head of the chamber of industry and commerce said in Friday’s daily Magyar Idők. László Parragh said wages for skilled workers should be increased by around 20 percent and the government should further cut taxes.

The government has decided to take further measures to help families, with an emphasis on helping mothers get a job and opening creches at workplaces, the human resources minister announced. Speaking at an event organised by the German Economic Club (DWC) in Budapest on Saturday evening, Zoltán Balog said the government would spend a total 6 billion forints (EUR 19.4m) on the creche programme.
