A month ago Zoltán Balog, minister of human resources and an ordained Hungarian Reformed minister, ruffled the feathers of those who take the separation of church and state seriously. The occasion was a speech he delivered in Szombathely at a thanksgiving service upon the completion of a steeple for the local Hungarian Reformed church and the installation of three new bells.

Folk is a deep well nourishing several other genres; it is immensely rich, personal, simple and tolerant. We do not wish to define this genre, nether do we aim to tell what belongs under the notion of “folk”. We are just glad for having been able to offer a chance every spring since 2010 for everyone to have their own choice from a rich inventory of music.

In an ordinary goulash soup you will find normal beef chopped in bite-sized pieces, potatoes, onions and paprika. However, the restaurant at the corner of Huszár and Munkás streets doesn’t offer a lot of ordinary things.
