The Mountain Village Council of the Tokaj Wine Region will prepare a comprehensive assessment of the historic Tokaj wine region by the end of the year, chairman of the council Miklós Prácser told MTI. The body wants to get a clear view of plantations in the region, the winemakers’ properties and assets, wine reserves stored in cellars, and the sociological situation of people working with wine.

Editor Péter Németh told reporters on Tuesday that the left-wing daily needs another 10,000 subscribers or an additional Ft 10-15 million a month to ensure its survival.
