The Kúria, Hungary’s supreme court, gave the all-clear to a governmentinitiated referendum about migrant quotas in a final ruling. The Kúria rejected appeals submitted against the National Election Committee’s decision to pass the referendum question.

Lajos Kósa said that the government was hamstrung by a plan by the opposition Socialists to seek a referendum in connection with Sunday shopping.
