The Körmend store launch also marked a local campaign under JYSK’s Creating Homes Donation Program, which supported the Esőemberke Foundation for People with Autism. The initiative, chosen by community vote, directs support to local organizations improving the living conditions of disadvantaged groups.

“For JYSK, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Hungary this year, it is especially important to make products necessary to create an affordable yet stylish home easily accessible to as many people as possible.

With the opening of the new store, we are not only expanding our presence in the country but also getting closer to our customers to better align with their needs. By the end of 2025, we plan to open two more stores to ensure even more comprehensive national coverage,” said Szimeiszter Sándor, country manager for Hungary, Austria, and Greece.

The new store features three showrooms, a mattress studio with expert assistance, and a wide range of seasonal décor and furnishings. It is built under JYSK’s “3.0” store concept, which emphasizes sustainability and energy efficiency with LED lighting, motion sensors and segmented systems that cut lighting-related energy use by at least 25%.

As part of the donation program, the Esőemberke Foundation — active for 25 years in Vas County — received support to improve access to services for autistic adults.

To celebrate the opening, JYSK offered promotions and gifts: the first 300 customers spending at least HUF 10,000 received a Billerbeck towel, while all shoppers were given a large JYSK shopping bag.
