Népszabadság photographer Simon Móricz-Sabján has won first prize at the China International Press Photo contest. His series, entitled ‘Sárvidék’, was found to be the best in the Daily Life Stories category. Nearly 70 photographers from 70 countries were represented in the contest.

Budapest is to host the 2017 FINA World Championships, which will be the biggest international event so far in the history of Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced at a press conference on Wednesday. He was speaking after signing an agreement on this with the Executive Director of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Cornel Marculescu.

Our zoo currently holds two male koalas, since, in the international koala programme, new member zoos can take only males at first. Then, in a few years’ time, the chance will come to replace one of the males with a female.
