Holiday Opening Hours At Budapest Markets

Not all expats know that most shops and markets close on 1 November, due to national holidays in Hungary. Every market operated by the local 'Hall and Market Management' company will be closed on that date - except the Fehérvári Street Market Hall flower shops, open from 7.00 am - 2.00 pm.

Sausage Festival In Budapest, 13 - 15 October

This annual festival featuring 250 types of spiced up meat will be held at the Hungarian Railway Museum this year. As well as lots of porky specials available along several 'Sausage Streets', there will be family programs, folklore shows, 'nostalgic music programs' and dance, plus apparently presentations of enormous sausages, during this three day special Hungarian gastro event.

A four-day workshop conference and happening about Rákóczi square, at Rákóczi square with people from Rákóczi square.The construction of the 4th metro line started in 2006. Due to the prolonged works, the neighbourhood lost plenty of its liveability, the market hall became abandoned and square was only used for bypassing.
