The European Commission has formally requested that Hungary, along with 17 other member states, should improve their functional airspace blocks. FABs, or common airspace arranged around traffic flows rather than state boundaries, are “a crucial step towards a more efficient, less costly and less polluting aviation system in Europe”, the commission said.

The radical nationalist Jobbik party had 11% support, the Socialists 8%, the Democratic Coalition (DK) 4% and the E-PM party alliance 3%, the poll said. Green party LMP was backed by 4 %.

On May 25 Hungary will hold its election for the European Parliament. The government party opted to hold the national election on April 6 and a separate EP election seven weeks later. There was nothing that would have prevented the authorities from holding both elections on May 25, but such an arrangement wasn’t deemed advantageous to the governing party.
